Playground
The Playground at Search → Playground runs a single GET /v1/query with
your dashboard session and shows the raw response. It is the quickest way to
see what a query returns before you write any code.
The form
Section titled “The form”| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Search engine | Any of the six targets. The form disables whatever the chosen engine cannot serve: the page field on Bing, DuckDuckGo and Yahoo, the safe-search field on DuckDuckGo and Yandex. |
| Query | The search terms, up to 400 characters. |
| Country | Any of the 193 supported countries. Type in the picker to search by name or code. Results are localized to that country, and it sets the default locale. |
| Locale | An xx-yy tag such as en-gb. Leave it blank to take the country’s default. |
| Page | 1 to 5 on Google, Brave and Yandex. |
| Results | How many organic results to answer, 1 to 20, or 1 to 10 on DuckDuckGo, Yahoo and Yandex. |
| Safe search | Off, moderate or strict. Every engine except DuckDuckGo and Yandex. |
The full parameter rules are on Targets & geo.
Reading the response
Section titled “Reading the response”The response panel shows the JSON exactly as the API returned it, plus the wall time of the call and how many credits it cost. Understanding results explains each field.
Copying a snippet
Section titled “Copying a snippet”The code panel builds a cURL, Python and Node snippet for the query you just ran. Pick the key it should use from the dropdown; the dashboard only stores the first and last characters of a key, so the snippet shows it masked and you paste the full secret over the dots before running it. If you have no key yet, the panel links to API keys.
Rate limit
Section titled “Rate limit”The dashboard session is limited to 120 requests a minute. Each run in the Playground is one request.
